This is very exciting for us here at Out of the Pits. Having a blog has been a dream - To be able to report the latest pit bull news and to tell our bully rescue stories is an amazing opportunity. Who woulda thought?!
But it's true. And while we may be wildly celebrating the inititation of our blog, we are VERY serious about our work. So stay tuned for more pibble news...

Hi, Ann here. I think this is a wonderful, exciting idea. I've been a fan of Out of the Pits for years. I am Brutus's mom who I adopted from here several years ago. He is such a wonderful companion and loving dog. I really look forward to hearing news on the new blog and sharing ideas.
So many great dogs saved through Out of the Pits. Can't wait to meet more of them here. I am the proud "guardian" (actually hate that word!) of OOTP dog--Lucy--the most extraordinary girl. (Or maybe woman--she's @12?) So, are PB's different? Smarter? Lemme hear your thoughts...
Hi Everyone! I too, am the proud adopter of two Out of the Pits rescues, Joey and Hannah. I encourage you all to stop by our kissing booth on 2/14 to raise funds for an animal cruelty awareness program we are involved in. Hannah and three other Out of the Pits Therapy dogs will be there kissing away. Hannah has been doing therapy work for 4 years now. Many pitbull come naturally to this type of work. Like one of our mottos says, they're lovers, not fighters!!
Finally, a place where we can post our thoughts on such a lovable breed. Though I've never been lucky enough to have a pit of my own (local ordinance says we can only have 3 dogs!), I hope to someday have one for a companion. I am a huge fan of all things pit!

Greetings fellow Pibbles and their people! Maxx and Maddie here... We're very excited to talk to other fur children about everything pibble! Maxx has earned his CGC, and Maddie is working on it. We look forward to learning more cool stuff, and maybe someday, when we're a little older and have gotten some of the wiggles out, we too can have a turn at the kissing booth! We LOVE giving sloppy smooches!
I've had Avalon since she was 5 weeks old, my husband and I never got her spayed because we were going to breed her. I mean look at her picture she's a beautiful 'dog'. However, after doing plenty of footwork, and web searching/reading I've read and learned, there are so very many pit bulls already out in the world without homes, why add to it. I love my 'dog' (she's not a dog she's part of the family, the sort of 'one of the kids' type of thing) I'm not going to breed my baby,(def getting her spayed) put her through the whole process ONLY to find out years from now the homes her pups went to no longer have them. Avalon comes from a litter of 11 1 died at birth, we're the only original owners who still have any of that litter. I've even gone as far as hunting online for red nose pit bull puppies - and found alot I might add.
So...long story short I've read alot of websites, and found after reading many many sites, Out of Pits seems like the place that not only cares for these pits but LOVE them. So after talking to my family, we've agreed we'd love to adopt from Out of Pits. And the main reason for this post was to Wake up you pit bull bloggers :)
Lets share some stories, enlighten those that know nothing about pits, or those that are curious.

Adopted Corky in April of last year from Out of the Pits. She is an amazing dog. Our lonely American Bulldog is totally in love, and our family would not be the same without her. Thanks Out of the Pits, and keep up the good work on educating the public on just how wonderful these dogs are!!
